Practice Round

Saturday is Brady's first cousin Jane Gray's wedding...she is marrying sweet Allan Bledsoe from Greenwood.

At any rate, we are having a practice round with Whitney's new Pieces by Tam bonnet. She was not so pumped up, as you can see.

I will post a picture or two of Miss Priss in her fancy new duds in a few days.

Please pray for us. Well, really just me. Tomorrow is Whitney's first day at nursery. She will be fine, no doubt, I think I may need some moral support however!

Cuz Club

I just stole this picture from the in-laws blog. How hard is it going to be to get a decent picture of a 3.5 year old, 9 month old, and 2 month old? Hmmm...we were practically hanging from the chandelier to get this one! How fun.

Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho...

It is almost off to work I go.
The end of my summer break/maternity leave is drawing near. I can distinctively remember saying, "There is no way I will ever be able to stay home 12 weeks without going stir crazy," oh how quickly things can change.

In preparation for the big return to work, I decided to sort through my closet. One of the following pictures are the bottoms that fit and are ready to wear, the other...let's just say not so much.

Make a guess? Well, if you guessed that my bottom half will be in a strict rotation, because if I just counted the hangers correctly there are 13 options for my lower extremities, you are correct!

Whitney participated in her first community service project: school supplies for MadCAAP. The school teacher in me loves some school supply shopping. Partner that with not being in a classroom anymore and without school aged children, I decided this project would be a worthwhile cause for some extra dollars and cents.

"...a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor."

Also last week we received a box from Doodlebugs. A longtime friend Kacey (I worked with her at McCoy Elementary in Yazoo City) creates precious paper goods in her spare time. I know there are so many clever, creative people there who "do" paper goods, but if you are in the market for some calling cards, flat notes or personalized stickers visit here.

MCAT Friday

One of our dearest friends (and my long time roommate before Brady and I married), Julia Thompson, has maintained a balance unmatched by most during the past year and a half, or so. She works full time as a RN, volunteers regularly, and is a part time student at MC. Well, the time has come for all this hard work, dedication, and preparation to be put to a test...a big, scary test, the MCAT.

Joo-Yah, you are going to kill me for this BUT...how about this picture?!? I got a fabulous new camera from Santa just a few days before she started back to brush up on some med school basics (classes, that I can't pronounce nonetheless spell), so I said "Smile! It's your first day of school!" Terrible, I know.

We love you and wish you the best of luck Friday.
You are in our prayers!!

Wild Weekend

Noah and Whitney, just a swingin'!

Thursday night the King Family came over for dinner--
Noah and Whitney were checking each other out!
My sweet sister and her boyfriend Ian also were here...
that is her skinny seventeen year old self on the right.

I think Whit is yawning and stretching...
even though it looks to be a gang sign.

Friday night we had the Mississippi College Ed. Leadership Program Cohort Reunion.
Despite the extreme heat, it was a nice event.
We enjoyed visiting with the Evans' new baby Jordan as well as with the Allen Family.
It sure would have been perfect if the DeLoach's and the Hill's could have made it too!
Maybe next year, huh guys!?!?!

Two months down, a whole lot more to go.

We spent most of Saturday around the house,
but we did go dinner with Grammy and Poppa (Brady's parents).
We went to a chain restaurant,
they are often better at meeting allergy
needs. Chili's it was.
I felt sure out the 10 page menu I would have a plethora of options.
Oh, I was wrong.
Please take a gander at my dairy free menu...
Sorry friends, I scanned this a little crooked!

My favorite part- Sides: Corn, Corn Kernels, Guiltless Corn...
What more could a girl ask for?

Just what I have been looking for...

Well, not really.
I just randomly found this website...

I have a large bag full of Tri Delta t-shirts...
I always thought I would get crafty and make a quilt.
Five years later, I have a large bag full of Tri Delta t-shirts.
I never got crafty.Retrospreads, of Nashville, TN, creates quilts, throws, etc. out of your old memories.
The website details the process-which seems efficient and relatively inexpensive-as well as shares a story or two.

I think its finally time to do something with that bag of tees...

House Hunt

There are only 18 houses listed on MLS in Harvey Crossing right now...
that doesn't count the ones FSBO, like ours.

With a total of 42 visits to this blog, I am not so sure my readership will necessarily get our house sold. BUT if you do happen know anyone who is looking for a fabulous 1620 sq/ft home, please send them our way!

Pennsylvania Presents

When I checked the mail today, I found a little something for Whit from her Great Aunt Kathy who lives in Pittsburgh...

"Born a Steelers Fan Just Like My Aunt Kathy"

I will be sure she wears it for the first game of the season on September 7th, which is also Aunt Kathy's birthday!

Sweetness

I can't tell if she is laughing at me or with me.
The bonnet didn't quite make it to church...
I sure tried to get it there though.

Fun in the Sun

June 20-21st we celebrated Gretchen and Wilson's wedding weekend in Destin. Of course we stayed a few extra days for a little summer getaway...

Whitney enjoyed the view, from our condo that is! My mom and sister came along for some quality baby time.

If you haven't visited here, make your reservations now! It was fabulous...the weather was perfect, the scenery was beautiful, the atmosphere was grand. A picture perfect weekend!

Friends, Family, and the Fourth

No doubt, we spent our first wedding anniversary on the 4th Floor of Baptist Hospital welcoming Whitney Rodgers Davis!

Thursday evening we celebrated Anna Riley Kelly's first birthday. We actually missed her party while we were in Destin last week, so a belated celebration was in order.
minus the cake...balloons....
humph, we missed all the good stuff...
Happy Birthday Anna Riley!

Friday was spent visiting with The Hammett Family, Jon, Brittany & Audrey, and The Williams, Dustin & Ashley, at the Holmes County Country Club and then at Reunion with Bryan & Leslie.

By the end of the evening, we were exhausted.
Just like I am now. This has taken me forever to do.

Will I become blog proficient in due time??
